Follow-up Comment #32, patch #8919 (project octave): Sorry. I didn't realize that I had some local changes in the source tree I built from. With a clean tree, I do see the same linking error you reported. I'm looking at the changes now to find out which made the difference. It looks like the attached patch does it here. I haven't yet checked whether these changes would be save for clang and Windows. (I'd guess they would break the Windows builds.)
