Follow-up Comment #1:

Now that linkage, inconsistent and cluster are in the statistics package,
would you be able to work on the sortClasses method?

Otherwise I'll do a cursory review, if OK push, then fix any style issues I
fell need fixing (can't be many, I think you're doing a Very Good Job).
Goodies like sortClasses() can be added later on then.

My pref would be to do it all at once, but as author this is your pick :-)
