AFAIU this bug is mainly about being able to manipulate legend objects with
the mouse, i.e. implementing the selection tool. Nothing new on that front.

Now about the legend box being stretched or compressed when resizing the plot
window, those ones (somewhere between bug #39697, bug #48859, and bug #50094)
are ready for test.
