Hahaha, of course your computer did crash. You are using the WRONG
driver. The vortex2 driver is absolutely unstable. Its like a nuclear
bomb ;). It will just blow up your computer.
The only usefulness of that driver was to undertstand the Vortex chip
internals and to do experimentation. While its very unstable, it was a
great work (of Jeff Muizelaar) at its time, and the trigger to join this
project.

Use the ALSA driver.
