Manuel,
The sound still reverses with this -9 patch and alsa 1.0.3. Everything else seems great/better than ever. I believe the errors that cause sound
reversal are these...actually im quite positive. I guess i should have mentioned this information a long time ago. Do you think this will help in
tracking the problem down?
dmesg |grep vortex
vortex: 2 virt=12, real=0, delta=2
vortex: 2 virt=15, real=3, delta=3
vortex: 2 virt=4, real=0, delta=2
I also have two
vortex: IRQ fifo error
vortex: IRQ fifo error
But i have never seen those before (it must be the new patch?)
Jeff should i apply your patch as well?
Thanks a ton Manuel and Jeff
Peace

Hello.
I've installed 1.0.2c with this patch applied with the following
results:
- The volume seems to have greatly increased. I don't even need to use
eq anymore to increase the volume
- Unfortunetly, Quake is completely uplayable for me now - the sound
in Quake is played much faster and garbled. Also, it stays that way
after I exit Quake, and I need to reboot to fix it, reloading driver
doesn't help.
- If I play 2 streams at the same time, they also play fast, and I
also have to reboot the machine.
Seems like the good old "fast play" bug made a come back.
Best regards.
