 Real shame - its one of the best window managers out there.
I don't use an DE. - just oroborus + emelfm2 on antix-mepis.
my laptop is way too old for gnome.

generally I haven't yet found any need to implement a gtkdialog for the
gnome control center, and also currently the development of Oroborus and
related applications is on hold for now.

For setting the root color, I remember, there was something called
xsetroot.
