Beta 5 is now available at

pan-users, and private mail from people on pan-users, has been
extremely helpful in getting Pan from completely broken to
almost-usable. Keep up the great feedback!

cheers

ABOUT PAN                           <http://pan.rebelbase.com/>

  This is the fifth beta of Pan for Windows.

  Pan's probably still not ready for heavy use on Windows, but it's
  getting closer. Most of the changes in these betas have come
  directly from user feedback, so if you notice something wrong,
  missing, slow, (or maybe even something good? :), write us at
  <address@hidden> .

CHANGES SINCE BETA 4

   * setup.exe no longer asks to reboot after installing Pan.
   * Install-time checking for GTK 2.2 Runtime registry keys.
   * Removed the console window and its flood of debug messages.
     A few minor errors still appear, but Pan should run faster
     without the flood.

CHANGES SINCE BETA 3

   * Fixed to the previous betas' lock-on-startup problems
   * Added icon for the desktop shortcut
   * Uninstall now removes the ".pan" directory
   * The changes between Pan 0.13.3 and 0.13.3.90; see
     http://pan.rebelbase.com/download/releases/0.13.3.90/ANNOUNCE.html

CHANGES SINCE BETA 2

   * Added some debugging code to try to locate the source of
     the startup lockup being reported by Win2K and XP users.
   * Added the console window back in so that users can report
     on debugging messages as they fly by.

CHANGES SINCE BETA 1

   * upgraded from gtk 2.0 to gtk 2.2. If you tried beta 1, you must
     uninstall Pan and the GTK 2.0 runtime before installing this.
   * libintl install tweaks
   * minor improvements to install script
   * no longer opens a console window
   * removed complaints about ``mkdir ("c:\");'' :)
