You don't mention which version, but lack of popups is a known issue with I 
think it was 0.13.3.  The 0.13.3.90 beta is supposed to fix this, IIRC, but 
has other problems, incl. lack of signature insertion.  If you don't do sigs, 
or can do w/o them, try that, perhaps.  (The status on this is as I r/c from 
the list.  I may have the version numbers wrong, but it is a known issue, and 
I believe corrected in the latest beta.)
