Edit <GTK path>\2.0\etc\gtk-2.0\gtkrc and just change the default font
name, I use "tahoma 8". You can also replace the IMHO hideous yellowish
default by renaming <GTK path>\2.0\share\themes\Default\gtk-2.0\gtkrc to
gtkrc.mumble and just making gtkrc an empty file. This will give you a
mostly-Windowsish-not-screaming-look. There's a supposedly 'native' GTK2
Windows theme on Sourceforge but it was even slower for me.
