[Pan-users] odd newsgroup behaviour

I'm not sure if this is the right list for this question, but I'd be
really grateful for any pointers.

I subscribe to a relatively high volume group (uk.politics.misc) and
about 10 other groups. These have all worked fine under Pan, until
recently, when uk.politics.misc has started behaving oddly, and I
wonder if I have inadvertently changed a setting in Pan (and if so
which), or whether there is some more fundamental problem elsewhere in
the system.

The problem is that when it starts up, Pan gets the headers from
Leafnode and lists the number of unread articles in each group. Each
group matches on new and unread articles. Clicking on a group allows me
to see the specified number of articles listed, except in this one
group. If I select uk.politics.misc, which might show several hundred
unread articles, the number of unread articles immediately changes to
maybe 75 and it displays only that number. I am clearly missing out on
many of the messages in this group.

I have tried unsubscribing and then re-subscribing a day or so later,
but that hasn't made any difference.

I have:-

Pan 0.14.2.91
Ubuntu 5.04
Leafnode 1.10.7
2.6.11-1-amd64-k8-smp

Thanks,
- Richard
