i'm glad to see that development has started again for pan!
to successfully compile the .103 release on freebsd 6.1, i needed to
set an environment variable. using the bash shell:
export CPPFLAGS=-L/usr/local/include
it seems like the configure script should make that unnecessary. from
a little searching, it seems that it's a common problem for configure
scripts that have not been specifically targeted for (free)bsd.
