To clarify:  by 'into sync' do you mean that the problem is now gone?

I saw a few mysterious quirks after upgrading a few versions back.
I solved them by deleting ~/.pan2 and starting over, so I'm assuming
that something changed formats between versions.

If you want to test this idea you should probably just move your ~/.pan2
out of the way instead of deleting it, just in case you want something
from it later.
