This one could well be the problem I've been having, and have discussed
here before, that some groups simply don't seem to work for me -- they
don't update. I've been going to look into it rather deeper, but simply
haven't had the time as I've been working more hours than usual lately,
and it doesn't look like I'm likely to get it any time soon either,
unless I simply decide to screw something else off to do it.
Unfortunately, it's not a problem a trivial investigation has been able
to fix, and it looks like it might take some major "quality time" to pin
down.

At least I know I'm not the only one to have it, now, and you the same.

FWIW, the exact same groups work in a different pan instance (using a
different config and data dir, set using the PAN_HOME environmental
variable before pan starts -- I keep several separate instances including
a "test" instance, where it works). Thus it's not something hard-coded
into pan or into the gmane news server. It's gotta be some problem with
the existing data set for that pan instance. The problem is to try to
trace exactly where it is, and if possible, why it might be occurring, so
as to prevent it from occurring to others and to fix it for us. /That's/
where the "quality time" comes in. =8^(
