I just wanted to add that i am leaning on a variation of your 
acceleration problem approach
where the accelerometers will be disabled when thrust (computed from 
throttle)
changes by+-30% or more from it's present value as the only condition.
This will apply always during normal flight.
From the tests i have done the only significant factor is the 
acceleration/deceleration
from the engine as all other acceleration/deceleration effects are small 
during normal flight
(not 3D of course).
Any opinion on this?
