Heinrich,

I heard about the HMC5843 beeing discontinued but would never have suspected 
the supply chain (15-20 Eur/pcs.) drying out so fast :-( However, the HMC5883 
as a potential successor is not pin-compatible. Hence my request.

@Hector: Sorry, I have no experience with this magnetometer so far. I was just 
starting with the breakout board. Thanks to your hint I will keep an eye for 
out weird behaviors.
