Hi Luke,
I'm only one step ahead of you. I have a Lisa/M with a JTag connector
and a FLOSS JTag programmer/debugger, but no documentation on how to
use them. Searching the wiki for Jtag, I found info about debugging
but not installing firmware.
any hints?

I think I’ve sort of figured it out… The Paparazzi Center uses JTAG
programming for the STM32, rather than the bootloader, correct? Is there
any way to change this, or should I buy a JTAG programmer/debugger and be
done with it?

Subject: [Paparazzi-devel] Lisa/M Bootloader Question
I’ve got a bit of a dumb question here, but the STM32 architecture has an
integrated USB bootloader, right? If so, do I have to take the BOOT pin
high (3v3) when uploading a program to the Lisa/M?
I’m working on VMWare Player Ubuntu (Natty) install, which works very well
with my TWOGs, which always show up on the USB device list, whereas the Lisa
doesn’t seem to do anything. (The power LED comes on, and LED1 flashes
periodically, if I don’t hold BOOT high during startup.) Predictably
enough, if I try performing an upload in Paparazzi Center, I get a “Error,
unable to open ftdi device: device not found” message. This occurs
regardless of whether I hold the boot pin high or not, during boot.
I’m assuming that when the bootloader is running, I should see some
indication of a USB device being detected, correct? I also notice that
unlike a TWOG, the Lisa is booting as soon as I connect the USB cable? Do I
still need to attach a battery to the Vin port, for programming? (I’ve
tried it both ways, and it doesn’t seem to make a difference, but I figure I
should ask.)
Thanks!
Regards,
~Luke
