Hello. CTS and RTS are not required. You should check that the xbee on the a/c is set to transmit to the ground Xbee in the destination address high and low parameters. routing messaging mode should be 0.

And the ground xbee should have 

routing messaging mode = 1

destination addr high = 0

destination addr low = FFFF

When I then try to commit for example another telemetry setting (other than
default) or PID parameters from GCS nothing seems to happen. I have
connected Din and Dout to TX and RX respectively. Do I have to include CTS
and RTS somehow?

The telemetry is set to Transparent in my airframe file if that's relevant

I have no idea what's going on. Help would be greatly appreciated.
