While reading a bit about Scribus I have found a free software PDF library
which I think that we have not taken into account: PoDoFo
(http://podofo.sourceforge.net/index.html)
I don't know if it is very useful for us becouse our goals are probably a
bit wider, but at least it is insteresting to have some reference point.
Interesting. It seems to have a stream abstraction, support for all
filters but the graphics-only ones (JBIG2, fax, ...), a lexer and a
parser, the document catalog, some support for fonts, support for the
rc4 encryption algorithm (but not AES), and a rasterizer.
Since it is licensed with LGPL, we would be able to reuse code from it
if needed.
