Please don't hit me... But Outlook's filtering is quite nice.
You setup rules... And they are in order(this order can be changed) and
every email that comes in is ran through these rules.... When it reaches one
that matches it runs the rule.
Here is a example of the first step in the wizard:
With specific words in the subject
Through the specified account
Send only to me
Where my name is in the To box
Marked as importance
Marked as sensitivity
Where my name is in the Cc box
Where my name is in the To or Cc box
Where my name is not in the To box
Etc...
The next step:
Move it to the specified folder
Assign it to the category
Notify me using a specific message
Delete it
Permanently delete it
Move a copy to the specified folder
Forward it to people or distrobution list
Etc....
Next step:
Except if from people or distrobution list
Except if the subject contains specific words
Except through the specified account
Except if sent only to me
Except where my name is in the To box
Except if it is marked as important
By the time you are done.. You end up with a rule that reads like this:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
With 'Howdy' in the subject
Move it to the 'old' folder
Except if sent only to me
And that's the rule.
Hope this helped some.

LOL, I'll be bored off my A** this weekend, as people are out of town, I'll
suspend
work on the IMAP socket class and try to pump out some inbox filtering code
instead.
$50, that buys alot of Diet Coke :)
Will someone post to this list their concept of how this "filtering" should
work,
so I at least have a target functionality to shoot for before I start
writting any
code. Note that this will provide me with some insight from people who
actually
know what they want in this capacity. I know what I want, but
_unfortunately_ I do
not know everything :)
Rock On!
