It is possible to have phpgw accessible via
http://server/phpgroupware - it must be setup properly in
setup/config -> maintain install.
The suggested below is not needed.

The workaround mentioned here is not a complete fix.
while it allows
login and most applications seem to have correct links there are major
problems in the admin and preferences applications. especially with
image links.
