=================== BUG #5156: LATEST MODIFICATIONS ==================

------------------ Additional Follow-up Comments ----------------------------
For Locations and Work Category IDs, allowing the user to set the ID value is
actually a fetaure. That way they can conform to IDs that they are used to
using in other systems or just use sequential numbers (they can't be
duplicates). They seem to be unorder but they actually have a kind of order ..
they display in the last edited order (oldest is first)
The location id required to be incremental for the in/out screen is a bug that
I intend to fix (yes a missing one will create a blank). I personally want to
use location IDs 10 and 50 for instance, and then assign project numbers based
on the location ID. For now, edit the IDs to make them sequential and in
whatever order you want them to display.
=================== BUG #5156: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================
Submitted by: fugu Project: phpGroupWare
Submitted on: Mon 09/08/2003 at 21:50
Category: timetrack Bug Group: 0.9.16RC1
Severity: 5 - Major Priority: High
Resolution: None Assigned to: jecinc
Status: Open Component Version: CVS
Platform Version: Linux - Debian Reproducibility: Every Time
Summary: Category ID and Location ID lose their linear order when deleting
items in TT
Original Submission: when deleting items in the Locations table or the Work
Category table, the 'ID' number should be simply the row number of the entry
not it's own unique number (or affixed to the absolute table row #).
The ID column is used to calculate display presentation later, in the event of
Location ID, it will cause blank columns representing the missing consecutive
numbers (example deleting location entry 2 of 3 then creating a new entry will
yield Location ID: 4, the next consecutive )
When there's only 2 entries, and you added a 3rd. Displaying the page in phpgw
will give you 4 columns, #2 being blank and missing.
-hope this helps
