[Phpgroupware-users] error when admin changes email settings

I keep getting an ldap error when I am logged in as admin and I try to 
change other users email settings. Any ideas? I looked through the archives, 
but didn't see anything and I've been watching the list for about 6 months 
and don't remember seeing anything like this. 

phpgw 0.9.14.001
php 4.2.3 (not compiled with ldap, not using ldap)
gentoo (unstable, all relevant packages updated recently)
