Verify that /var/lib/phpgroupware/sessions is writable by user or group
www-data, or change session.save_path parameters on
/etc/phpgroupware/apache*.conf files.
This seems a packaging bug.
As some other stated, the .000 version is old, but the debian version
not bugged. All the security holes have benn closed backporting it.
