Hi

Just for the record and to help others.  I found the problem with login access.

I had to change my setup preferences so that the authentication method was SQL, 
I had set it for MAIL, thinking this would set up an email authentication 
system.  It didn't

When I changed the authentication method back to SQL then my admin and demo 
accounts all worked fine.
