I hope I find the time to investigate this further in the next few days. Maybe I can find a clue.

I am not sure about what you  write. (I am a not native English speaker)

So we should use the same specs for .sav and .zsav or we should implement it in the same way? I would prefer the later.

I think the evidence suggests that IBM simply haven't bothered about a special mimetype for .ZSAV files.
So I think we shouldn't  either - at least not until some new compelling evidence appears.

Instead we should just submit the necessary upstream patches so that ZSAV files are recognised in the
same field as .SAV files.

     Cómo yo no tengo tanto manejo técnico, tal vez algo esté dejando pasar.
