inkscape vs gimp

I noticed that all of our icons were made in inkscape. It looks like
inkspace is about 5x faster at rendering them to pngs than gimp:

I don't see any quality difference in the output.
I agree with the comment in Smake that ImageMagick does a bad job.
Maybe it doesn't matter much though.
