This is bug #45805 See http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?45805
So far as we know, it only happens on Windows and on the git snapshot
(not on the official released version).
So your options are:
1. Run the program under GNU/Linux instead of under Windows.
2. Use that latest official release from ftp.gnu.org
3. Wait until the developers have fixed this bug.
OR you can work around it by pasting the syntax manually instead of using
the importer dialog.

Hello,
I am using the 0.8.5-g4936dc Version of PSPP.
I have been trying to import data that I have converted from a .xlsl into
a .csv, .txt and .ods file.
When trying to import the file into PSPP, I can use the assistant that
runs
me through "importing textual data" until the end. When clicking "apply",
I get a message :"PSPPIRE has stopped working",
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Version: 0.8.5.52234
.
..
Any idea what might cause the problem? And how to resolve it?
Kind regards,
Eva La
