Oh wait...

In a fresh install of Jaunty I still get an error when launching psynth3d...

[gui] INFO: Initializing Ogre.
psynth3d: OgreGLSupport.cpp:57: virtual void Ogre::GLSupport::initialiseExtensions(): Assertion `pcVer && "Problems getting GL version string using glGetString"' failed.

Some dependency still missing in the psychosynth.gui package... shit.. any idea which can be the missing package?

Many thanks :D

Just need to enable "universe" and "multiverse" repositories in Ubuntu.
You can do it by editing the /etc/apt/sources.list file directly

Oh, interesting, will try with a fresh install of Jaunty in a VM and
come back with the results... let me check...

Alex,

Do you have any idea why is he having these problems? Maybe he has to
enable some other repos?

Thanks,
JP

I downloaded and booted a live copy of jaunty, added the repositories

Hi,

The 3d interface was not built because some of the dependencies of the
3d interface where not found when you run the ./configure script.

Aleksander Morgado has packaged Pyschosynth for Ubuntu Jaunty, adding
these repositories to your sources.list should you to install the
software using the package manager.

# Andrew Finn's PPA for ogre 1.6
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/andrewfenn/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/andrewfenn/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

# Aleksander Morgado's PPA for Psychosynth
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/aleksander-m/psychosynth/ubuntu jaunty
main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/aleksander-m/psychosynth/ubuntu jaunty
main

Thanks for your patience :)

Hello everybody,
I can't get to install correctly psychosynth.
Using one of the binaries is not an option for me, since my choices
of OS
are windows or ubuntu.
I managed to setup an Ubuntu 8.10 booted through USB with
persistance as
a
playground for the installation and downloaded the latest stable
sources.
I
followed the installation instructions on the website and I finally
finished
compilation without errors.
Problem is: something has gone wrong because the binary for the 3d
interface
has not been created.
Do you have any suggestions? I would like to install on ubuntu 8.10 if
that
is possible.
I'd really like to see this project but getting it to work seems
really a
bit tricky.
Thank you for your help,
bye bye
