Actually it would be useful to have the ability to override xdg-open:

files in ~/mail folder open in mutt. Their mimetype isn't always
recognised correctly.

application/x-bitorrent is correctly recognised by xdg-mime but not
xdg-open for some reason.


Yes, xdg-open plus ~/.mailcap should take care of things.
