Details:

I've tested this with CVS as of an hour ago and rdiff-backup 1.1.5.

When trying to restore from a CD or other read-only location, the restore
fails with a backtrace showing a failed chmod because of the read-only file
system (backtrace attached).

This bug occurs for normal users and it doesn't occur for the root user but
I'm sure you can appreciate that "Log in as root" isn't a satisfactory
workaround.
