[[[ To any NSA and FBI agents reading my email: please consider ]]]
[[[ whether defending the US Constitution against all enemies, ]]]
[[[ foreign or domestic, requires you to follow Snowden's example. ]]]

    +
Note that these services are referred to by their domain names,
+rather than their common names (eg: savannah.gnu.org vs. Savannah).
+That is because the underlying software, running on most of these
+servers, is also available for self-hosting as Free Software.
+This list focuses primarily on the ethics of the service operators,
    +rather than the properties of the server software;
+so it is important to emphasize that these criteria were applied
+only to each specific instance, operated by a specific organization.
+Only one of these criteria (A1) relates to the server software.

That is a good start. Here I improve the wording in a few places.

    +
We refer to these services by their domain names,
+rather than their common names (eg: savannah.gnu.org vs. Savannah).
+That is because the software for most of these
+services is also available for self-hosting as Free Software.
+Installing that software on your own server and using it yourself
+avoids most of these ethical issues (all but A1).

    +
    +
Therefore, here we address the ethics of the service operators.

It is the same points, but written more clearly.
WDYT?

Meanwhile, I see that the items for Github and Gitlab still refer to
those names instead of github.com and gitlab.com. Would someone
like to fix that?
