Hi,
I took some days to refresh my 'autostrap' framework and generate a
new Savane test-install disk image, for use in QEMU / VirtualBox / KVM
/ etc.
It can be downloaded at:
http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/savane-cleanup/test-install/
It contains a Debian GNU/Linux "Lenny" system, with Savane 'clean-up'
installed and running, plus the new Savane framework ready for hacking
in /usr/src/framework/ .
Here's a summary of the various files:
savane.img.tar.gz
Raw disk image. Decompress it and run it with QEMU or other
emulation/virtualization software (see savane-run.sh).
Thanks to optimized sparse file support, it won't take 2GB, but only
around 700MB on disk (check with 'du -sh').
savane.qcow2
The disk image in QEMU QCOW2 format. You can run it directly (no
need to decompress it) but it may be slower.
savane.vmdk
savane.ovf
savane.mf
The disk image in Open Virtualization Format.
Download the .ovf and the .vmdk , and import the .ovf in VirtualBox.
If the .mf is present, it will be used to checksum the files.
savane-run.sh
Info on how to use the disk image.
bzImage
The custom, basic Linux kernel bundled in the disk image. It has
support for some QEMU and VirtualBox virtual hardware.
Once you're running the disk image, you may install Debian's kernel.
Cheers!
