GTKYahoo is a Gtk+ based Yahoo! Messenger client.

This Instant Messenger client is built on the Yahoo! IM protocol library 
libyahoo which is used in many other instant messaging clients e.g.gnuyahoo, 
kyahoo, everybuddy, jabber, IM Anywhere etc.

The current distribution is at http://gtkyahoo.sourceforge.net/

GTKYahoo is intended to be a reference client implementation based on the 
Yahoo! IM protocol library libyahoo.

libyahoo is now a seperate project (currently at 
http://libyahoo.sourceforge.net/) though it used to be an integral part of 
GTKYahoo.

GTKYahoo attempts to supply implementations of all  the features and aspects of 
Yahoo!\'s IM protocol. It also intends to drive a tracking of changes made by 
Yahoo! to their IM protocol.

GTKYahoo also attempts to supply features that are not available in Yahoo!\'s 
own Win32 and Un*x clients. New features (like auto e-mail forwarding) and a 
broader platform support are key goals of the GTKYahoo project.

GTKYahoo is written entirely in C and should rely solely on the presence of X 
and Gtk+. No dependency on GNOME, KDE or anything else is made.
