fiz um teste utilizando o "wait", com o script abaixo, e funcionou certinho.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
find / -name named.conf 1> /dev/null 2> /dev/null &;
wait `ps ax|grep "find"|grep -v grep|awk {'print $1'}`;
echo "Processo Terminado";
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No seu caso, eu tentaria algo do tipo:

### R.SH ###
DIR_KSH=/net/dev-utdad1/Desenv_UTDAD001/ksh
. $DIR_KSH/R1.sh
wait `ps ax|grep "R1.sh"|grep -v grep|awk {'print $1'}`;
. $DIR_KSH/R2.sh
