not an option. im not root, and the admin has a _lot_ of users with a lot of
stuff running. he is unwilling to upgrade to -current or a recent snapshot
right now. maybe in a few months but i dont want to wait that long to set up
sks.
does this sound like an OS version problem to you?

i dont really have the room for the ports tree. i suppose i could untar just
the ports i need but i dont see any reason i should _need_ to do this to get
sks working.
what would ports be doing differently than a manual compile?
