This is my first partecipation to GSoC as a mentor.
My student showed entusiasm for the project but seemed to have a problem
with email communications. IRC seems to be much more preferred by youths,
His sole email to the list so far has been a blog-like list of items
he's been looking at. I had to reply with around 10 messages each
targetting an item :)

I appreciated the student trying hard to implement a testcase, as requested
by me. He didn't complete the task yet due to the difficulty of expecting
the same test results on different systems, each with its version of media
decoding libraries (what's being tested), but he's not willing to give up
and I belive he'll finally succeed with that, which I consider the most
important task.
