I agree entirely that we need a decentralized social network, and i hope
GNU Social will accomplish this, but i disagree with Moglen with regards
to his call for this social network to run on "wall wart" servers. That
seems extremely impractical and while it may work for wizards and people
deeply concerned with their freedom online, it is not practical for the
less-than tech savvy computer users today.

He advocates the creation of a 'GNU Linux Social Networking Stack'

His example is running this stack on any hardware that runs free software, such as $29.99 server you can just plug in, I think was for simplicity.

The stack will still run on any other server you chose, would be my interpretation.
