If it's possible, you should update Speech-dispatcher to 0.6.5.
You find an original Espeak module (not Espeak-generic), that possibly
solves your speaking problem.
You then must edit speechd.conf accordingly, and you should take a look
at espeak.conf in the modules folder as well.
You also can update Espeak to version 1.30.
