SSHproxy version 0.2 is out today.
This brings a new code rewritten almost entirely from scratch, more robust
and easier to debug and extend.
If you're using version 0.1, please upgrade since v0.1 has many bugs, and may
be a threat for security.
This version is not iso-functional with v0.1, here are the features that have
been dropped for the moment, but will be implemented in a future version:
- no installation with setup.py.
- no SFTP from the console.
Here come the good news, SSHproxy-0.2 is now easier to use, since there is no
more a specially crafted client. Its features are:
- Uses openssh standard client.
- From the console you can connect to several sites, and switch back and
forth from one to another.
- You can add new users and sites to the password database from the console.
- Differentiate admin and 'normal' users for the database management.
- scp works directly from the client host to the remote site.
- Easy to install with a wizard to initialize the database.
- Uses syslog (udp/daemon) to log events.
That's it for this release, but here are the new features for the next
releases:
- Plugin system to be able to call hooks from anywhere.
- Enhanced monitoring and logging system.
- Other backends than mysql.
- SFTP proxying
- Direct command execution.
- Arguments completion and history in consoles.
- ncurses user interface to monitor several sites at once.
- Graph generator to make a map of users and sites.
Enjoy and happy ssh-ing !
