                             Call For Participation

The Swarm Development Group, in collaboration with the Utah State University
Department of Geography & Earth Resources, is pleased to announce Swarmfest
2000, the fourth annual meeting of the Swarm Users Group. At Swarmfest 2000,
researchers from diverse disciplines get the opportunity to share their
knowledge and experiences with multi-agent modeling and the Swarm Simulation
System. The program is designed for Swarm users of any experience level and
for anyone interested in agent-based modeling.

During the conference, we will be holding a series of talks including time
for discussion following each presentation. Please send proposals for
presentations, demonstrations, break-out sessions, or any other suggestions
to <address@hidden> or contact one of the members of the program committee,
listed in the contact section of the Swarmfest 2000 website. This year, we
will be publishing the Swarmfest 2000 proceedings. Please be prepared to
submit your abstracts and papers prior to Swarmfest 2000. (Papers will be
reviewed but not refereed.)

Swarmfest 2000 will commence at 5:00 p.m. Saturday evening, March 11 and
conclude at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2000 at the Utah State University
Eccles Conference Center in Logan, Utah. This year's keynote address will be
given by Dr. Christopher G. Langton of the Swarm Corporation. Several tutorial
sessions are scheduled immediately prior to and following the conference
itself. On Saturday March 11th, a tutorial session will be presented by
Benedikt Stefansson from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This tutorial is geared
towards newcomers to Swarm. Concurrently, a hands-on workshop on Swarm will
be presented by Paul Box of USU. On Tuesday March 14th, immediately following
the conference, a hands-on tutorial session on using the Kenge (Swarm/GIS)
library will be conducted by Paul Box. Space is limited so please sign up for
these workshops as soon as possible.

Complete registration information, including conference logistics (timing,
housing and travel information) can be found on the Swarmfest 2000 website:

             http://www.ext.usu.edu/confer/swarmfest2000

The online-registration form is available at the same location.

Come join us at the Utah State University to advance the state of the art in
agent based simulation!
