Congratulations to Doug Donalson for his successful assault on the
ivy-covered walls of Ecology: (the brand-new Ecology 80: 2492-2507)!

The abstract ends "We comment on the strengths and limitations of
differential-equation-based models", and he argues the point that simple
differential equation models should also be viewed as closely
constrained by important (often overlooked) limiting assumptions.
