This was in my hardcopy of
Object-Oriented Programming and The Objective C Language
by NextStep (a corporate author I guess!).
Appendix C is titled "The Object Class"
and describes instance variables and class and
instance variables.
I never noticed before but indeed the online manual
does not have appendix C (A is the Language Summary
and B is the Reference Maual, as online).
The online version is also missing (as far as I can see
a secion on Archiving (after Dynamic Loading)
and after that a whole chapter (5) titled
"Programming in Objective C", having to do with
software kits and nextstep specific things,
and a section on using c++ with objective c.
I guess you get what you pay for
(if you're lucky)!
