The idea with the multilanguage layer was to freeze the Swarm interfaces and then start implementing or reimplementing different pieces using best-of-the breed tools. Basically what Mono (http://www.go-mono.com) or .NET does. That way there could be a smooth transition to autonomous development groups we'd get a way from the Objective C lock, and the lock on me (you know, the one you say I engineer and desire and maniacally profit from). Todd Thomson's .NET work sounded pretty promising to me. I wouldn't want to curse it by advocating it, though.And it's _not_ clear enough that people can come along and add things. Can you subclass from List? Can you implement phased objects? (I suspect you can because you're one of the rare users who has invested agreat deal of time and energy into Swarm.
