Hello GNU Taler Mailing List,

I am aware GNU Taler is not production ready

yet. But I was wondering what other challenges

GNU Taler developers will face in trying to get

merchants to accept payments under the GNU Taler

system.

My guess is it will be difficult to convince merchants

to accept the coins as payment. For instance,

the KUDOS coins are featured in the DEMO.

However, to the best of my understanding, the KUDOS

coin can only be used inside within the GNU Taler

system. I honestly think it would be best if we offered

coins that could be transferred in other competing peer-to

- -peer payment systems. That way, GNU Taler coins would be

able to incorporate coins from other payment systems, facitilating

the client's ability to pay for merchandise. That's why I

started talking more about Taler's support for cryptocurrency,

since peer-to-peer system (e.g. PayPal) are already accepting them.

Sincerely,

Tanveer Salim
