A side-effect is that paragraphs in multitable cells are not handled.
But paragraphs in multitable cells are of dubious use anyway.
I don't know of any examples in Texinfo manuals (I thought there was one
in Emacs but I can't find it now), but it's certainly not an
unreasonable thing to do in principle. I've seen plenty of non-Texinfo
papers and other documents that do it.
