Would you mind adding your test into the test "suite". Pick tests or tests2 which ever you find easier to add to. I hope it will take only minutes since you already have them written.

Thanks! I've also done other tests in x86_64: various types (short,
int, long, long long, all signed and unsigned) on both sides of the
shift, and everything is OK with my patch.
