GNUN 0.3.1 is available at ftp.gnu.org and its mirrors. This release
comes earlier as planned and therefore does not include all the
features that 0.4 was supposed to have.

The important feature in this release is the introduction of the new
variable `no-validate-articles' as a way to intentionally skip HTML
validation for some articles. GNUmakefile.team now supports Bzr
repositories in addition to CVS, Subversion and GNU Arch (all
automatically detected). See the NEWS excerpt below.

GNUnited Nations is a build system for gnu.org translations and a
collection of tools/features to aid translators (and sometimes
webmasters). GNUN comes with a small but fairly complete manual, and
a separate web-translators manual which is the official documentation
for all participants in the gnu.org translation process.

GNUN still heavily depends on gnu.org's structure and is not useful
for other sites without non-trivial modifications. We hope to extend
it some day.

See the homepage <http://gnu.org/software/gnun/> and
<http://gnu.org/software/trans-coord/> for more information.

Translators do not have to install GNUN to maintain their
translations, although it is still recommended to have it for things
like `make report TEAM=LANG' and info-browsable documentation.

Here are the compressed sources:
  ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnun/gnun-0.3.1.tar.gz (356KB)

Here are the GPG detached signatures[*]:
  ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnun/gnun-0.3.1.tar.gz.sig

Here are the MD5 and SHA1 checksums:

2f621df695d18ee39cde77bc7047b22e gnun-0.3.1.tar.gz
c15c95bad46b537424209eaf13a94c8f8fc69082 gnun-0.3.1.tar.gz

[*] You can use either of the above signature files to verify that
the corresponding file (without the .sig suffix) is intact. First,
be sure to download both the .sig file and the corresponding tarball.
Then, run a command like this:

  gpg --verify gnun-0.3.1.tar.gz.sig

If that command fails because you don't have the required public key,
then run this command to import it:

  gpg --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys A49EF0C0

and rerun the `gpg --verify' command.

This release was bootstrapped with the following tools:
  Autoconf 2.64
  Automake 1.11
  Makeinfo 4.11

NEWS

* Changes in GNUnited Nations 0.3.1 (2009-08-02)

** GNUmakefile.team supports GNU Bzr repositories.

** New variable `no-validate-articles'.
HTML validation is skipped for articles defined in this variable
even if VALIDATE=yes. This was specifically implemented to
workaround the lack of support of HTML 5 in `gnun-validate-html'.
Use it with extreme caution and only when necessary (i.e. when the
article is HTML 5), as skipping the HTML validation step may easily
   lead to other errors.

** Bugs fixed in 0.3.1.

*** Fix unintentional regression in `msgmerge --previous' behavior.
The announced functionality in 0.3 about `previous' strings was
not implemented properly, since the `msgmerge' modifications were
overwritten by another invocation in all the rules, intended to
    fix unrelated bug.
