The added functionality will be that you can create more then one view for a
Sheet, and show in that view a selected amount of tracks/buses from that
Sheet.

Each view can be turned into a 'mixer' view, basically turning the track
headers into 'mixer strips' with emphasis on pre/post fader plugins, be able
to edit them from there, and of course a large VU. Obviously, the 'track' part
(holding the clips etc) will not be shown in the mixer view mode.
The layout of those mixer strips can be either horizontal or vertical.

I simply can't figure out a better idea! (so far) 
The "mixer" being the same track arrangement you had, but viewed differently (the space used by clips being freed)... IMO it's elegant, simple, and overall an excellent concept.

Well, in fact it's more or less what a mixer uses to be in a DAW anyway, but being presented in the way above, it will be more appealing (and less intimidating?) to everybody, specially new users.

Can't wait to try it out :-D
