I do things behind the scenes, and am currently using git. Over the
years, I was using Subversion, then collaborated with someone using
Mercurial, so I also used Mercurial. Eventually I settled on git
because it is what Linux kernel development uses.
I include things in my personal repository beyond the simple package
though, such as scripts for preparing uploads for GNU's repository and
for Debian.
I could set up a git repository on Savannah of just the Unifont
package without the additional packaging and miscellaneous stuff. I
was not sure if there would be demand for it, so I have not yet done
that. I know that most Unifont users only care about the TrueType
font file.
