There is currently no development going on for xboard. It would be great to update xboard to the latest version of GTK and/or improve the GTK interface.
You would need to sign up for GNU and sign the copyright papers.There is also currently no active maintainer for the project, which would make it a bit harder to get things released, but we could probably figure something out or perhaps you want to be able to handle releases yourself?
